Object Capture Photogrammetry Workflow

In the showroom: photograph the furniture every 15–20° around 360° (24–26 shots), add bird-eye shots (8–10 shots), total 40–60 images at ≥4K. Process on Apple Silicon Mac (M1+) using PhotogrammetrySession with featureSensitivity set to high. Processing time: 5–20 minutes depending on image count.

Model Accuracy and File Size

Will showrooms allow furniture scanning?

Is a Mac required? Can this be done without one?
Object Capture processing requires a Mac with Apple Silicon (M1+). iOS devices cannot process locally. Without a Mac, Polycam or Luma AI offer cloud-based photogrammetry processing from iPhone scans to USDZ output.
Does the USDZ model accurately capture furniture textures and colors?
Yes — photogrammetry captures texture directly from photographs. Material colors and surface patterns appear in the 3D model. Uniform lighting (overcast sky or diffused indoor light) during capture maximizes texture quality.
