SmartInterior Activity-Expandable Design: One Space That Automatically Shifts Between Multiple Modes

Urban living constraints—declining square meters per person year by year—push Bangkok condos of 30-60 sqm to serve as many different activity spaces as traditionally separated rooms. Activity-Expandable Design solves this by programming spaces to expand their function by activity type rather than by room count.

The system core is Activity Detection, fusing multiple data streams: Time Context (day and hour), Presence Pattern (movement signature), Device Signals (Bluetooth headphones indicating audio focus, smartwatch indicating exercise, active app indicating work), and in advanced installations, Gesture Recognition via radar or camera. When the detected activity shifts, the system triggers the corresponding Scene—Work Mode sets desk illuminance to 500 lux, temperature to 24°C, and closes blinds to reduce screen glare; Relax Mode drops ambient light to 150 lux, opens a relaxation playlist, and raises temperature to 26°C; Exercise Mode maximizes ventilation and sets energizing lighting.

For HappySmart Studio and 1-Bedroom projects, Activity-Expandable design extends to semi-automated furniture integration: fold-down desks that retract when Exercise Mode activates, sliding partitions that screen the sleeping area during Meeting Mode, and modular seating that reconfigures for hosting. Combined with IoT orchestration, a 35 sqm Studio can functionally replicate a three-room apartment—not by adding square meters, but by ensuring every square meter serves every purpose.
