After: 0 fall incidents per 6 months, humidity 49% RH, electricity 2,600 THB/month (saving 900 THB/month), sleep quality 74/100 (+16 points).

Project 3 — Sathorn condominium, 68-year-old resident (Standard Package 95,000 THB) Before: PM2.5 42 µg/m³, CO2 peak 1,200 ppm during cooking, electricity 2,200 THB/month. After: PM2.5 9 µg/m³, CO2 peak 650 ppm (improved by HRV), electricity 1,700 THB/month (saving 500 THB/month).

Project 4 — Min Buri multi-generational home (Standard+ Package 145,000 THB) Before: no fall monitoring, electricity 4,200 THB/month. After: 0 fall incidents per 6 months, electricity 3,100 THB/month (saving 1,100 THB/month). Approximate payback: 145,000 / 1,100 = 131 months on energy alone — but with incalculable safety value.

Combined results across all 4 projects: 100% average fall reduction, 700-1,100 THB/month average electricity savings, 70% average PM2.5 reduction, humidity drop from average 69% to 50% RH, and up to +16 points sleep quality improvement. All data recorded transparently by Home Assistant data logger and Shelly EM.

Questions & answers

How are HappySmart’s before-and-after figures measured, and are they reliable?
All figures are recorded by Shelly EM for electricity, Aqara sensors for humidity and temperature, Home Assistant sensor logs for fall event timestamps, and the Withings app for sleep quality. No estimation is involved — all data is viewable in the client’s own HA Energy Dashboard.
Why is the payback period for Project 4 as long as 131 months?
That figure calculates energy savings alone. Including safety value — a single fall hospitalization costs 100,000-500,000 THB — true payback can occur within the first month of preventing a fall. ROI calculations must consider both dimensions.
How reliable is the Withings sleep quality score?
Withings Sleep Analyzer uses a BCG (Ballistocardiography) sensor placed under the mattress to measure sleep cycles, heart rate, and breathing disturbances, achieving 90%+ accuracy compared to in-hospital polysomnography (PSG), according to the Withings white paper 2023.
How can savings be measured for a home that does not already have Shelly EM installed?
Shelly EM can be retrofitted at any time for 1,200-1,800 THB, installed inside the distribution board without dismantling any existing system. Data collection begins immediately after installation. HappySmart recommends installing it at the start of every project to capture a clean baseline.
