Indoor Temperature and Health
Indoor temperature directly affects health, sleep quality, and work performance. Research shows optimal sleep temperature is 22–24°C and optimal work temperature is 21–23°C. With Bangkok's outdoor temperature ranging from 28–38°C year-round, smart temperature management is essential.
HappySmart installs Smart Thermostats connected to air conditioners via IR Blaster or direct Wi-Fi integration. Automations cool the room to 22°C at bedtime and turn off the air conditioner automatically 30 minutes after the last person leaves home. This approach reduces air conditioner electricity costs by 20–30%.
Relative Humidity and Health
Optimal relative humidity is 40–60% RH. Below 40%, nasal and throat mucous membranes dry out, increasing susceptibility to respiratory infections. Above 60%, conditions favor mold growth, dust mites, and bacteria.
During Bangkok's rainy season, indoor humidity can reach 80–90% RH. HappySmart installs real-time IoT Humidity Sensors paired with HappySmart smart dehumidifiers. Automations activate the dehumidifier when RH exceeds 65% and send LINE Notify alerts when RH crosses 70% to prevent mold before it establishes.
Air Filtration and PM2.5
Bangkok regularly exceeds WHO PM2.5 standards. HappySmart designs a three-layer air protection system: (1) PAP Device draws outdoor air through HEPA H13 and pressurizes the interior (2) HappySmart Air Purifier filters indoor air a second time with HEPA H13 plus Activated Carbon (3) IoT Sensor Network monitors PM2.5, CO2, and VOC in real time and feeds data to Home Assistant.
When outdoor PM2.5 exceeds 50 μg/m³, the automation system closes smart windows, boosts PAP Device fan speed, and sends LINE Notify alerts to the family — all without any manual intervention.
