From an Ordinary Home to One That Manages Itself
Khun Vira, owner of a four-story townhouse in Lat Phrao, Bangkok, installed a Smart Living Solution with HappySmart in early 2026. The trigger was electricity bills exceeding ฿6,000 per month and anxiety about security when traveling upcountry.
"I didn't want a high-tech home. I wanted a home that didn't require constant thought," he said. That was the brief HappySmart designed around.
The Consultation and Design Process
The HappySmart team surveyed the home and discussed daily routines before proposing any device. The first visit lasted approximately two hours, covering Wi-Fi signal measurement at every point, identifying weak spots, and mapping device installation positions.
The proposal came in three budget phases. Phase one at ฿45,000 covered smart switches throughout the home, occupancy sensors, four cameras, and Home Assistant running on Raspberry Pi 5.
Installation and Configuration
HappySmart's installation team spent a full day on site. Every Tuya smart switch required additional neutral wire connections — something older Thai townhouses often lack. The team handled this without additional charges.
After installation, the team walked through app usage and configured primary automations to match the household's lifestyle, including an "Away" mode that turns off every light, locks the door, and activates recording on all cameras with a single tap.
Results After Three Months
Electricity costs in the third month dropped from ฿6,200 to ฿3,800. Occupancy sensors prevent lights from staying on in empty rooms, and the air conditioning system connected via Tuya IR blasters shuts off automatically when a room has been unoccupied for more than 20 minutes.
"What I value most is the camera that sends me a LINE notification when workers arrive at the house. I'm at the office but feel like I'm still home," Khun Vira said.
HappySmart provides device warranty coverage and after-sales service with a 24-hour response commitment.
